The Pretty Chemist is a formulation lab and product manufacturer founded by New Orleans bred and based chemist, Robyn Smith. In 2020, The Pretty Chemist underwent a rebrand that included the grand opening of their headquarters.

Robyn’s goal is to formulate and manufacture clean beauty products that are scientifically backed. It is also her intention to model and encourage the multi-faceted nature of being a creator. She’s a fly girl that owns her nerdy-ness and a tomboy that owns her sensuality.

Spatial Therapy was hired to style a multi-functional workspace where the client can conduct research, store supplies, formulate products and perform consultations. The 400 square-foot room was to be divided into various workstations, including a public-facing office and a private laboratory, reflecting the multi-dimensional nature of the brand.

The 400 square-foot room was divided with a metal ceiling-mount curtain rod. The space in front of the curtains is now the public facing office with two workstations and display cases for merchandise. The space behind the curtains is now the stock room and private formulation lab.

Robyn utilized the lab to successfully formulate, test and launch the first three products in her skincare line, Just A Little TPC. She’s also opened the office to other New Orleans creatives in need of a work studio.
