The Seed Starting series a depiction of the agreement between a mother and the spirit baby housed in her womb. Becoming pregnant is long and layered, starting years before fertilization. It’s an agreement between mother, father, baby and a long line of ancestors.

First the proverbial gate is unlocked, a moment prompted by an event like relocating, learning one’s life passion, meeting a life partner, a natural disaster or loss. This event signals to the symphony of ancestors that mother, father and baby are ready to get ready, ready to prepare.

The preparation phase can last months or years. The mother might feel extremely creative or excessively depleted. It depends on the nature of her spiritual journey. Mother lives through a series of initiations that prepare mind, body and spirit to house new life.

The spirit baby enters the vessel weeks or months before mother is impregnated. This is when mother and baby awaken their physical process and start to get acclimated. My daughter’s spirit entered my vessel about 2.5 months before I was prgnant. I saw her in dreams and felt her spirit moving through me as an orb of light. She lowered herself, from heart to womb, while I stood atop a mountain. That was summer 2023, the night of the strawberry moon.
